  Lozoya Studios is a full service studio that specializes in people. It is the sincere desire to work with people to create the highest quality image, that has helped to establish Lozoya Studios as the finest quality portrait photography studio in New Mexico.

  Owner and Operator, Jessica Lozoya is a Master Photographer, Master Artist, Photographic Craftsman and a Certified Professional Photographer.

  Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) is a designation granted by the Professional Photographic Certification Commission, the world's leading certification agency of imaging professionals. Those who have earned certification have passed a comprehensive written examination measuring their technical expertise and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval. And every three years, a Certified photographer must renew the credential with continuing education, assuring you that they maintain an unmatched level of expertise and development. Less than 8% of all photographers hold this mark of excellence.

  Oscar Lozoya's favorite pastime as a child was drawing and painting. In his early teens he took up music and for many years made his living as a professional musician. Oscar discovered photography and soon knew it was what he wanted to do. Oscar opened Lozoya Studios in his old South Broadway neighborhood in Albuquerque, NM shooting commercial photography specializing in people: Album covers, posters, press kits, ads, magazines spreads, etc. He found that much of the same technique and models used in Commercial Photography could also be used in Fine Art Photography.

Among the awards his work has received are: 19 time Photographer/Director of the Year through the Professional Photographers Association of New Mexico. 40 Kodak Gallery Awards for Photographic Excellence. 24 Fuji Masterpiece Awards. Oscar has received the Highest Print Case Score in the Southwest 3 times from the Southwestern Professional Photographers Association. He has also received the Regional Medallion Award through the American Society of Photographers 3 times and their State Elite Award 12 times.
 
  Oscar began entering print competition in The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) in 1996 and has had 46 prints accepted into the National Loan Collection solely from the photographic open division. In 1999 he received The Master of Photography degree on print merits only, that same year he received the Photographic Craftsman degree on speaking merits only. Oscar Lozoya was among the first photographers to receive the Excellence in Imaging Award from the PPA which requires a minimum of 13 national loan prints to qualify. Oscar was one of less than 30 photographers worldwide, to receive the newly created Plus XIII Bar and has since received his second Plus XIII Bar. The Professional Photographers of America has also selected Lozoya's images for a full page National Ad Campaign.

  Oscar Lozoya has received the prestigous National Award for service to the Professional Photographers Association of New Mexico, of which he is a past president.

  Several of the largest equipment and materials manufactures in the photography industry have also used his images to promote their products. Oscar Lozoya traveled extensively around the United States and Latin Countries doing lectures and seminars in both English and Spanish.

  Oscar's artwork is exhibited in museums internationally. Lozoya's photographic art was represented in the United States by the Andrew Smith Gallery in Santa Fe and in Latin America by Dr. Enrique Cortazar of The National Fine Arts Institute of Mexico. Amherst Media publishes Oscar's books on black and white photography titled "Fine Art Portrait Photography" and "The Art of Black and White Portrait Photography".

  In 2019 Oscar passed away after a short battle with cancer. His art work can still be purchased and enjoyed at Lozoya Studios, in various museums and galleries throughtout the state of New Mexico.

Jessica Lozoya

   Jessica Lozoya is the current owner and operator of Lozoya Studios. She started in photography while attending high school at Dreyfoos School of the Arts in Florida. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Photography Technology. After earning her degree, she worked as a studio manager in Stillwater, Oklahoma for several years. During this time she meet Oscar Lozoya at a professional photographers convention. After dating long distance for a year, in 2000 she moved to New Mexico to work with her husband Oscar at Lozoya Studios.

  Jessica's photography has earned many prestigious accolades such as: Photographer of the Year from the Professional Photographers of America, Certified Professional Photographer Awards, American Society of Photographer's State Elite Awards, Top Ten Grand Imaging Award, Best of Show, People's Choice, Past President's Awards, 9 Kodak Gallery Awards for Photographic Excellence and 9 Fuji Masterpiece Awards.

  Ms. Lozoya is the first person in the state of New Mexico to have earned the designations of Master Photographer, Master Artist, Photographic Craftsman and Certified Professional Photographer. She has served as a judge for the New Mexico State Fair Photography Division, ANMPAS, Shades of Gray, and INSIGHT exhibits and has been a guest curator of fine art photography at the 105 Gallery.

  Jessica Lozoya is a recipient of the prestigious National Service Award from the Professional Photographers Association of New Mexico, Inc. of which she is a Past President.
